Kaitlin Pignataro is an artist, writer, and curator based in Naarm/Melbourne, where she lives and works in North Melbourne. Her practice engages deeply geometric abstraction through an intuitive methodology grounded in close observation.

Working primarily with pencil, ink, and watercolour, Pignataro’s drawings evolve through sustained mark-making. Rather than adhering to predetermined compositional frameworks, her works emerge incrementally, allowing structure to materialise through process. This approach reflects her ongoing engagement with the asymmetrical patterns found in the natural world.

In parallel with her studio practice, Pignataro maintains an active presence as a freelance writer and curator, contributing to contemporary art discourse. This expanded field of activity informs her visual work, situating it within a broader critical framework. Across these intersecting modes of practice, she continues to investigate the contingencies of visual language.
