Kaitlin Pignataro is an artist, writer, and curator based in Naarm/Melbourne. Her practice explores the relationship between geometric abstraction and human psyche, seeking a harmonious balance between structure and sexuality.
Working primarily with watercolour, Pignataro develops works through an intuitive and non-linear methodology. Through an ongoing fascination with pattern making and creating quartets of colour, her works explore the instinctual dimensions of being through abstraction.
Alongside her studio practice, Pignataro maintains an active presence as a freelance writer and curator, contributing to contemporary art discourse through critical writing and exhibition-making. These expanded modes of research continue to inform and enrich her artistic practice.
